Welcome to the website of UK photographer Sean Aidan.
My background is in fine art and graphic design. Having achieved a DipAD (Hons) (Diploma in Art and Design I have an eye for a picture (or so I've been told). After nearly 40 years as a photographer in the national and local newspaper industry, staff and freelance photographer for Local World and Reach Plc plus several years freelancing for the KM Media Group and the Sunday Telegraph, I am now stepping back to concentrate more on stock photography supplying images to stock agencies such as Getty, Shutterstock [link], Corbis and Hutchinson.
My experience is wide and varied from photographing elite tennis players at Wimbledon to Sunday league football on a muddy pitch in the middle of nowhere. I've covered major events including the late Queen's funeral and the King's coronation to Rachel Reeves lifting aloft the infamous red box in Downing Street on budget day. My pictures have appeared in many publications, city guides, album covers, advertising campaigns and been used by UK and international clients. I've worked in the UK, Europe and the USA.
My focus now is on documenting and recording events - being there - documenting an event does not mean condoning or supporting the participants of that event or protest. Being a witness without expressing judgement or prejudice. My pictures are not intended to express any personal beliefs or opinions. I'm recording what my camera sees - visual story telling.
